The Alamo Resource Conservation and Development Area, Inc., through their Senior Assistance Program, will hold their next bi-monthly Health event on Friday, May 17, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in Faith Tabernacle, 7789 FM 1283. The public is invited. The guest speaker is Karen Lively-Martin of Tri-County Home Health, presenting “Water Does a Body Good.” Lunch is free for seniors and by donation to others. ​The Arthur Nagel Community Clinic is opening a satellite clinic in Lakehills and invites the public to the Open House on Monday, May 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Lakehills Civic Center, located at 11225 PR 37 in Lakehills. The Lakehills Area Library has an Art in the Library program where different artists and artisans exhibit their works each month. During May, the featured artisan is Lois Graff, whose gourd art includes unusual designs in gourds of different sizes and shapes. Her creations include necklaces, masks, wind chimes and purses. The American Legion Post 410 of Lakehills announced that on Saturday, June 8, more that 450 Aspen Dental offices will open their doors to veterans and provide dental care at no cost. Veterans can call 844-277-3646 to find a participating Aspen Dental nearby and schedule an appointment, which is required. Dental treatments will include cleanings, exams, and pain relief.
On Wednesday, May 14, our Medina Lake level was 1063.98 feet. That is down 0.22 feet, which is 99.5% capacity. The Medina River had a flow of 158 cfs in Bandera, running 4.86 feet deep at the gage.
