Could there be another national rodeo champion from Bandera County? Maybe you’ll have a chance to see a future champion or two in the making this summer. The Bandera Rodeo Club Youth Summer Series Rodeo 2019 opens its season this Saturday at Mansfield Park Arena.
The second year series, open to kids from ages 8-19, will continue on July 13, Aug. 10, Aug. 17 and have their final show on Aug. 24.
Last season more than 50 competitors chased $32,000 worth of prizes, awards and cash and event organizers are hoping for both numbers to increase this year.
Books open bright and early at 7 a.m. on the day of each rodeo and will close at 8:30 a.m. except for the Bull events, which include Steer Riding, Minis, Novice and Open. Those books open at noon.
With 12 different events available, there is something for everyone, whether you’re watch’n or rodeo’n.
For more information on the rodeo, of if you are interested in becoming a sponsor, call 830-431-1030 or e-mail banderarodeoclub@gmail.com
