Big doin's in Lakehills for the fourth

Special to the Prophet

Lakehills will have a large Fourth of July celebration on Thursday, featuring a parade and a BBQ sponsored by the American Legion Post 410.
Sign up for the parade starts at St. Victor's Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. with judging to follow at 10 a.m. The parade will start at 11 a.m. and the BBQ lunch with chicken, sausage, potato salad and beans, starts at noon at the Legion located at 147 26th St. West in Lakehills.
Ruth Tschirhart will be the Parade Marshall.
She has supported American Legion Post 410 from the beginning as a charter member of our Auxiliary Unit, which stood up on Jan. 2, 1968.
Tschirhart has held every officer position within the organization, including serving as president from 1976 to 1979 and she still continues to serve today as the Unit’s Historian officer. She also held the post as American Legion 21st District President from 1973 to 1974.
In addition to the parade and eats, there will be a live band and a 50/50 drawing.
For more info, you can call 830-751-3711, e-mail [email protected], check out the website at alpost410.com, or on Facebook at American Legion Post 410.
Remember, one of the Unit’s main motto’s is "It’s not the price we pay to belong, it’s the price they paid for our eligibility!”
Hope to see y'all in Lakehills on the fourth!
