To help families get ready for the back to school rush and frenzy, the Hill Country Samaritans and Bandera ISD have partnered up. Together, they’re hosting the Back to School Bash at Lakehills Civic Center on Sunday, Aug. 4 from 4 -7 p.m.
The free event is open to all students throughout the county, whether they attend public school, private school or are home-schooled. Nearly 700 backpacks have been donated to give to students, along with food, school supplies and a host of information from 42 vendors who will have booths inside the Civic Center and on the outdoor lawn. Other activities such as face painting and a bouncy house are planned.
Bandera ISD student-athletes who still need a physical can get one for $10. Transportation for those in need will be provided by BISD; school buses will leave Bandera Middle School at 3:30 p.m. and return at 5:30 and 7 p.m.
