Barker and Kelley win saddles

The Bandera Prophet
The Bandera Rodeo Club Youth Summer Series 2019 has ended but it wasn't over until the points from all five rodeos were counted to declare the class winners.
The boy and girl that ended up with the most total points would be declared the High Point Saddle winner. To qualify for the High Point Saddle competition, participants must have been in at least three of the five rodeos and in at least three events per rodeo.
Brody Barker won the boys division with a 211 point total, just edging out Kase Riley, with 202 points. Barker and Riley, competing in the 8-11 year old group, traded points the entire season, usually alternating wins and second place finishes.
CJ Johnson was third with 87 and Chance Rademacher finished fourth with 55 points.
The girls division was a much tighter race with
Grace Kelley, in the 15-19 age group, scoring 163 points to take the saddle. Second through fourth place was a toss up, being seperated by only 7 points, with Emily Grant in second with 150, Callie Kohlenberg with 149 and Harlee Huff at 143 points. Cealy Billings finished with 120, Caitlin Castro with 93 and Julie Lipka with 74 points.
Class winners received a premium belt buckle from series sponsor and local silversmith, Hyo Silver, with the second place winners receiving assorted tack from Double J Saddlery.
