Pipe Creek woman dies in car accident

A Pipe Creek woman died Friday, Sept. 13, in a two-car collision in front of the Cielo Rio Ranch subdivision.
According to DPS Lt. Jason Reyes, Mary Poza, 74, pulled out onto Hwy. 16 from a stop sign at Bear Creek Road. She collided with a vehicle traveling northbound on Hwy. 16. Poza died on scene.
The driver of the other vehicle, 37-year-old Kristin Barth, was transported by ambulance to the hospital, and has reportedly been released.
First responders included the Castle Lake Ranch Volunteer Fire Department, the Pipe Creek Volunteer Fire Department, the Bandera County Sheriff’s Office, Bandera County EMS and the Department of Public Safety.
