Cowboy Capital Opry is Tuesday night

By Amy Dee Hawley
The Bandera Prophet

The Cowboy Capital Opry will be held Tuesday evening, Oct. 1, with Vicki Gillespie and Lanette Pennell as guest performers. They, along with Dave Kemp, Tooter Ripps and Mark Wright, will dazzle the audience with great music, laughter, and joy. This is one music event you really don’t want to miss.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and music begins at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 and reserved seats are another $5. Reservations are suggested but not required. You may call Amy at 830-796-4969 or stop by the Silver Sage to see her. Proceeds benefit Silver Sage.
There will be a workshop held on Oct. 2 and will be presented by Raul Vasquez, from the Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program in Texas. It will focus on personal amplification for seniors with a condition or disability that limits their use of a telephone such as difficulty hearing, seeing, speaking, mobility (moving), or remembering.
The only requirements are that the applicant lives in Texas and has one of the conditions mentioned previously. No social security or insurance information is required.
This workshop will begin at 1 p.m. in the Silver Sage Great Room. Vasquez will give you all the information you need to complete the process to receive the equipment.
