Jerry Russe announces for Bandera City Council
My name is Jerry Russe and I’m running for City Council in November. I have been a business owner in the City of Bandera for 17 years and a resident for five years. I made the choice to make Bandera my home and start a business here because I grew up in a small town similar to Bandera and always enjoyed the small-town lifestyle.
Bandera has a unique heritage and I will do everything I can to keep it that way.
I really care about this town and now have more time in my life to try and do my part. I’ve become very active and vocal at City Council meetings and do not hesitate to speak up when I think something doesn’t seem right or make sense.
I was attending City Council meetings long before I had any idea that I might run for a City Council seat. I have attended all City budget meetings and budget workshops through the entire budget process. The more I became involved, the more I realized the only way to make a real difference and stop complaining was to run for City Council. I have spent hours trying to educate myself on the operations, budget, and current and future needs of our city. I am confident that I am more informed and educated about our City operations than any other new candidate.
It’s time for a change!
I promise to:

I promise to:
- Be proactive
- Stand up for all taxpayer’s rights
- Make sure all taxpayers are treated fairly
- Spend taxpayer’s money conservatively
- Be a voice for the taxpayers
My priorities will be:
- Maintaining the existing infrastructure of the city should be the #1 priority when spending revenue
- The city has neglected our roads, so a lot of road repair and improvement is needed
- Work with TxDOT to reduce speed on Hwy 16 coming into town from SA
- Consider options to reduce congestion on Main Street
- Address the immediate needs of our current water and wastewater and take action to move forward with plans for a new wastewater treatment plant
