Halloween creeping up on us

LAKEHILLS LIBRARY
The library will hold the 6th annual Community Trick or Treat on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., in the library. Trick or Treat and games for the kiddos provided by the library, area groups and local businesses.
Renowned photographer Michael Tidwell is exhibiting his creative works at the library during October. Along with his cyanotypes, several of his students are also exhibiting the cyanotypes they did in his class.
Every Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. a free Yoga class for all ages is available. Everyone should bring a mat and water.
Every Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. the library hosts free story time for kiddos 2-5 years of age. It includes songs, games and crafts based in preschool curriculum.
Early voting continues Oct. 28, Monday-Friday, this week, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
On Saturday, Nov. 2, the library will hold the monthly Book Sale, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hardcovers are $1.50; paperbacks and children’s books are 50 cents each.
All library programs are free and open to the public.
The library is located at 7200 FM 1283.
ALAMO AREA AGENCY ON AGING
The AAAOA is offering free help with Medicare Annual Enrollment. Call for an appointment with Counselor Elia Pardo on Wednesday, Oct. 30, from Noon to 3 p.m. in the Pantry Barn at Faith Tabernacle, 7789 FM 1283. The number is 866-231-4922. Pardo will explain all options and help find the best prices.
ALAMO RC&D
The Alamo Resource Conservation & Development holds a free senior Fun & Fitness Class every Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to Noon, in the Faith Tabernacle Pantry Barn. All are welcome to join low impact exercises. No equipment is needed.
AMERICAN LEGION
American Legion Post 410, 147 Legion Dr. in Lakehills, it is open to the public Fridays through Wednesdays, from 3 p.m. They serve meals on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and provide entertainment for all ages. For information, call 830-751-3711.
LAKE AND RIVER
On Monday, Oct. 28, our Medina Lake level was 1057.48 feet. That is down 6.72 feet, which is 84.7 per cent capacity.
The Medina River had a flow of 17.2 cfs in Bandera, running 3.61 feet deep at the gage.
