Bandera City Council members sworn in

Incumbents Lynn Palmer and Rebeca Gibson renewed their terms as Bandera City Council members for another two years, and newcomer Jerry Russe began his tenure after all three were sworn in during last Thursday's regular City Council meeting.
Justice of the Peace Mike Towers performed the ceremony before the three new elects were presented their Certificates of Election. For her second term, Gibson was appointed mayor pro tem in a unanimous decision by council.
In other business, after several tries and failed motions, council approved the designation of Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) funds. The following entities approved to receive disbursements are as follows:
Bandera Business Association for RiverFest: $3,000 ($3,000 requested)
Bandera Business Association for Cowboys on Main: $5,000 ($10,000 requested)
Bandera ProRodeo Association for the Bandera ProRodeo Women's Ranch Rodeo: $3,000 ($3,000 requested)
Bandera ProRodeo Association for the Bandera ProRodeo Memorial Day Weekend Stampede Rodeos: $7,000 ($7,000 requested)
Bandera Wranglers for the Bandera Ham Rodeo: $4,565 ($4,565 requested)
James McGroarty for the 11th Street Cowboy Mardi Gras Celebration: $11,250 ($22,500 requested)
James McGroarty for the Bandera Stompede Memorial Day Weekend Celebration: $6,000 ($12,000 requested)
James McGroarty for the Labor Day Weekend 11th Street Country Music Concert Series: $6,000 ($12,000 requested)
Currently, the HOT account has $42,000. Ninety percent of last fiscal year's projected funds was received, and nothing has been collected yet this year.
