Lady Bulldogs get ready for district

Closing out 2019 and looking toward the start of district, Bandera played the two last games of their  non-district schedule over the Christmas break.
Dec. 30 saw Bandera taking on on the number six team in 2A, the Harper Lady Longhorns
Harper's inside game was too much on both ends of the floor and helped the Lady Longhorns hand the Lady Bulldogs a 60-36 loss to finish the year.

Bandera will host Boerne in the district opener for both schools on Thursday evening. Freshman and JV games are scheduled for 5 p.m. with the varsity to follow at 6:30 p.m.

Hoping to change fortunes, Bandera traveled to Comfort on Jan. 3 to face the Running Deer.
A tight first quarter saw the Bandera trailing by three and the Lady Bulldog defense, along with some timely scoring by Breanna Stimmell, Summer Haby, Anna Guajardo, Kristin Salas and Liz MacNeil, cut the deficit to just one, 22-21, at the half.
The second half saw Comfort stay in the lead, and even though Bandera matched Comfort scoring in the final quarter, the Lady Bulldogs finished on the short end of a 51-44 decision.
Stimmell and MacNeil led Bandera scoring with 18 and 8 points respectively and Salas grabbed 10 boards in the loss.
