Troy Konvicka announces for Bandera County Commissioner Precinct 1
I am Troy Konvicka and I want to be your County Commissioner for Precinct 1 for Bandera County.
I grew up in Bandera county, attended Bandera High School and was active in FFA and Rodeo, graduating in 1992. After graduation I married my wife Karen. We have been married for 26 years and have two children and four grandchildren.
I enlisted into the U.S. Army in 1996 and served 22 years starting in Ft Sill, Okla. I graduated Basic training and Advanced Individual Training as an Honor Graduate. My first duty with 101st Airborne at Fort Campbell, Ky. as a Fire Direction Specialist in Field Artillery. Then transferred to Germany with 2nd BN 3rd Field Artillery. After completing the United States Army Special Forces Selection and being selected, I attended Special Warfare Center and school at Ft Bragg, N.C.
After completing the Qualification course and earning the Green Beret and the Military Occupational Specialty of Special Forces Engineer, I was assigned to 1st Special Forces Group, Fort Lewis, Wash., where I had multiple deployments to Iraq and throughout Pacific Command.
I earned the rank of Master Sergeant and serving as an Operation Detachment-Alpha Team Sergeant specializing in Military Freefall Operation. Then I was assigned to the United States Special Operation Command as Non-Commission Officer in Charge for the Warriors Care Program at San Antonio Military Medical Center. While in this position, I directly influenced the recovery and rehabilitation of wounded warriors, and assisted family members during the process.
After retiring, I have dedicated my time to supporting the healing and recovery of warriors with the mission of bringing them home, as the Operation Director at Warriors Heart Treatment Center here in Bandera. Supporting active duty military, veterans, police officers and first responders. I have worked with Texas State Certification boards, Emergency Management Agency and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for maintaining certification and state requirements.
I care about Bandera and preserving its history while still bring the County into the 21st Century. My wife and I produce “Riding on Faith Rodeo” in Bandera to provide a family orientated environment for locals and visitors to enjoy the cowboy way of life. Also, I am actively involved with my church family at Ridin’ the River Cowboy Fellowship and active with the Bandera Pro Rodeo Board as vice president.
I want to be a vital part of the community that I grew up in and serve as a voice for the voters in matters that will shape and grow Bandera County now and in the future. I am asking for your votes on March 3 at the Primary Election and the privilege to support and work for you as the Percent 1 Commissioner in matters that will enhance and make our home a place you can be proud to raise a family.
