AMERICAN LEGION
American Legion Post 410, located at 147 Legion Dr. in Lakehills, is hosting a Mid-Winter Dinner at the Hall on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 6 p.m. Perfect for Valentine’s, it includes Prime Rib or Chicken Cordon Bleu, with veggies, salad, bread and dessert. Tickets must be purchased by Feb. 11 at the Hall or by calling 479-936-6170 or 830-357-0346. The price is $20 for one meal or $35 for a pair. Carry-outs are by pre-arrangement only.
ALAMO RC&D
The Senior Food Pantry will be set up on Fridays, Feb. 14 and Feb. 28, from noon to 3 p.m. It is first come, first served to senior citizens over 60 years. The limit is two bags per family.
The Senior Social event will be held Friday, Feb. 21, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The theme is “Be A Heart Hero,” with a guest speaker. They will celebrate February birthdays and anniversaries, there will be door prizes, and a free catered meal will be provided. RSVP by calling 210-548-9248 or emailing [email protected].
All Alamo RC&D events take place at Faith Tabernacle, 7789 FM 1283.
LAKEHILLS CIVIC CENTER
The Center hosts a free lunch on the second Wednesday of each month, from 11 a.m. to noon. It is for senior citizens 55 years or older. The next lunch is Feb. 12. The Center is located at 11225 PR 37 in Lakehills. For more information, call 830-751-9904 and leave a message.
LAKEHILLS AREA LIBRARY
The library’s fundraiser was highly successful. A more complete report can be found in the library’s column, Lakehills Library Leanings, here in the Bandera Prophet.
LAKEHILLS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
The church has restarted the TWIGS program every Monday at 4 p.m. It is an after school program for elementary age kiddos. The parents or legal guardians must present a note of permission to have the church pick up their children.
The church also hosts the Bread of Life, a free community meal, served every Monday that is also a school day, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
The church is located at 150 Ave. J, in Lakehills.

On Monday, Feb. 10, Medina Lake is at 75.9 per cent capacity. The lake level is 1053.29 feet, which is down 10.91 feet.
The Medina River has a flow of 26.4 cfs in Bandera, running 3.85 feet deep at the gage.
