ALAMO RC&D
The Senior Social event will be held Friday, Feb. 21, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The theme is “Be A Heart Hero,” with a guest speaker. They will celebrate February birthdays and anniversaries, there will be door prizes, and a free catered meal will be provided. RSVP by calling 210-548-9248 or emailing alamorcd@gmail.com.
The Senior Food Pantry will be set up on Friday, Feb. 28, from noon to 3 p.m. It is first come, first served for senior citizens over 60 years. The limit is two bags per family.
All Alamo RC&D events take place at Faith Tabernacle, 7789 FM 1283.
PIPE CREEK FIRE DEPARTMENT
The fire department, located at 1331 FM 1283, is proud of the new cement pad in front of the old fire house. That building is now used for elections and serves as a community center that can be rented for private events. The fire department thanks the Bandera Electric Cooperative for their support of the project.
The old fire house is also used as the bingo hall every Friday evening, starting at 7 p.m. Snacks are available, prizes are paid, the public is invited, and it is fun for all.
LAKEHILLS AREA LIBRARY
The library’s fundraiser was highly successful. A more complete report can be found in the library’s column, Lakehills Library Leanings, here in the Bandera Prophet.
Voting is taking place in the library until Feb. 28, on weekdays only, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This is the Texas Primary, where each party will select their candidates for the big fall election in Nov. Primary Election Day is March 3.
The library is located at 7200 FM 1283.
LAKEHILLS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
The church has restarted the TWIGS program every Monday at 4 p.m. It is an after school program for elementary age kiddos. The parents or legal guardians must present a note of permission to have the church pick up their children.
The church also hosts the Bread of Life, a free community meal, served every Monday that is also a school day, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
The church is located at 150 Ave. J, in Lakehills.

On Wednesday, Feb. 19, Medina Lake is at 75.6 per cent capacity. The lake level is 1053.16 feet, which is down 11.04 feet.
The Medina River has a flow of 25.2 cfs in Bandera, running 3.83 feet deep at the gage.
