David M. Mifflin
​​December 24, 1945 ~ February 14, 2020

David M. Mifflin, 74, of Lakehills, passed away on Feb. 14, 2020. He was born in Sand Ridge, Illinois, to Harry and Dorothy Mifflin on Dec. 24, 1945. He married Rebecca Miller on Feb. 1, 1969, in Murphysboro, Illinois.
David graduated from Murphyboro High School, and was retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons after 26 years of service. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war where he served his country as a Navy Corpsman assigned to the Marine Corps, receiving two purple hearts.
David is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Dorothy Mifflin; and brother Johnny Mifflin.
David is survived by his wife Rebecca of the home; daughters Angelia Broyles and husband Paul of Oklahoma, Zendra Mifflin of Pennsylvania; grandchildren Lea Cole and husband Tyler and John Broyles of Oklahoma, Zane Bianco and Alysa Bianco of Pennsylvania; and great grandchildren Adalyn, Katie and Zayden of Oklahoma. David is also survived by sisters and brothers, Rebecca Heflin and husband Jim, Mary Jane Mifflin, Steve Mifflin and wife Debbie, Sara Bachmann and husband Geoff, Debbie Mifflin, Michael Mifflin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of Illinois.
Graveside services will be held Monday, Feb. 24, at 10:15 a.m., at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, with military honors.
