The Bandera Prophet
St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated on March 17, the death date of the patron saint of Ireland. The day commemorates St. Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland, as well as the heritage and culture of the Irish. Observances include parades, festivals, the wearing of the green and shamrocks (three-leafed clovers). It is widely celebrated around the world. The Irish say, “On St. Paddy’s Day everyone is Irish.”
Wishing an old Irish blessing to all, “May neighbors respect you, trouble neglect you, the angels protect you, and heaven accept you.”
