Spanish Trails in Bandera County
Texas History Month Program at the Bandera Public Library

The Bandera Public Library, in collaboration with the Frontier Times Museum, proudly presents a lecture from local historian Ray Carter on Wednesday, March 11, from 4 - 5 p.m., titled Spanish Trails in Bandera County. Mr. Carter is an expert on the early history of Bandera County and the adjacent areas. He has conducted extensive research of the Spanish exploration and mining expeditions and the military movements from the Spanish era beginning in the 1500s to the U.S. Army in the 1800s. 
Spanish Trails in Bandera County will be presented as part of the Texas History Month celebrations at the library. The featured titles wall includes books about women’s contributions to the history of Texas. The library will also be displaying artifacts significant to the history of Bandera which will on loan from the Frontier Times Museum.
From Indian games trails, to military highways to stagecoach roads, the hills and valleys of Bandera County have seen many traverse the rivers and creeks. Landowners, Texas and military history aficionados, and anyone interested in the history of Bandera County should attend. 
The lecture will begin at 4 p.m. with a question and answer session to follow.
