Lakehills Library Leanings
By Vicki L. George

The Fall Preschool Storytime Program has begun. Director Dianna Landes will read to the youngsters virtually through YouTube and craft kits may be picked up by parents at the library each week. The crafts are designed to meet preschool learning requirements with an emphasis on letters, numbers, reading and writing. Parents can register at lakehillslibrary@gmail.com or call the library at 830-751-2777.
The Daytime Book Club has resumed with the option of in-person or Zoom. The next meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 1 p.m. If you want to part a part of Zoom, email the library to sign up at lakehillslibrary@gmail.com. If you wish to come in person, it is open to the public and anyone is welcome to come discuss this month’s book, Sweet Jane by Joanne Kukanza Easley, a local author who lives just outside Medina.
The library invites patrons to enter from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the hours are now 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Masks are required, as is social distancing.
All services are available including books, movies, audio, printing, faxing, notary and scanning. Also, hundreds of paperback and hardcover books are available for purchase.
Two computers are available for use and the library asks that you reserve your time with one.
Landes reminds patrons who are uncomfortable coming inside that all services are available at the door. The free WiFi is always available in the parking lot.
The library’s hours are Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and until 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It is located at 7200 FM 1283 and the phone number is 830-510-2777. The email address is lakehillslibrary@gmail.com. Their website is lakehillslibrary.org.
