Bandera ISD
Cross-Country

In the last regular cross-country meet of the season, both of the Bulldog varsity squads had a strong showing in Uvalde on Saturday.
The Lady Bulldogs took another first, this time scoring 19 points, 51 points ahead of second place Eagle Pass.
Bandera's runners took charge from the onset of the race, running the first mile in a pack, pushing each other to stay out front.
"After the first mile, the pack thinned out and Hannah Edwards took charge of the race with Raelynn Butler, Morgan Cole and Makayla Gonzales close behind. Trinity Butler, Danielle Gonzales, Kaitlin Doebbler, and Gracie Bankston all were grouped up together battling out who would be in the top seven for the team,” Coach Brooke Ashcraft said.
The Bulldog varsity boys team had a strong showing, finishing second to Eagle Pass, in what was the final tune up meet before the district meet.
Coach Sam Farrell said every member of the team ran their best times of the season so far, an indication that the Bulldogs are peaking near the start on the post season that includes the district, regional and hopefully, state meets.
The road to the state meet will start next Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Bandera City Park as the Bulldogs will host the District 28-4A Cross County Meet.
