City accepting applications for interim council position
Deadline to apply is Nov. 25

The City of Bandera is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the City Council. The City Council may fill the vacancy by appointment. The person appointed to fill the vacant seat would volunteer their time, experience and knowledge, and serve until the next regular municipal election, which will be held in November 2021.
City Council members are the city’s legislators. It is the council’s responsibility to identify the needs of the citizens and to formulate a plan to meet those needs. Policymaking is a complicated process but can be simplified if council members work together as a team and set goals for the city. There are many legal, financial and administrative considerations to implementing the goals of the city.
Eligibility requirements include:

  • Be a citizen of the United States and at least 18 years old
  • Be a registered voter and a legal resident in the City of Bandera.

City Council meets on the first and third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at City Hall, at 511 Main Street, Bandera. Special meetings and workshops may be called at any time.
Council members will fill the empty seat during their meeting in December 2020. The last day to turn in an application is Nov. 25, at 3 p.m. Applications are available on the website at www.cityofbandera.org or a hard copy may be picked up at City Hall. Completed applications may be returned to the City Secretary’s office.
