The latest at the Bandera Library

By Mauri Guillén Fagan
Bandera Library Director

On behalf of the staff and the Board of the Bandera Public Library, we wish you a very happy, healthy and safe Thanksgiving. In observation of the holiday, the library will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26, and will open again on Monday, Nov. 30.
Be sure to mark your calendars for the next Friends of the Library book fair coming up on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is an easy way to get holiday shopping done while helping to support your local library.  All items are by donation and include new and used books in good condition, CDs, audiobooks and even antique or hard to find titles. If you can’t make the big book fair, don’t forget the Book Nook is open during library hours.
The Bandera Public Library Board of Directors continues to recruit for new board members. Stop by to pick up an application or you can download it from our website www.banderacountylibrary.org/board-of-the-directors.
If you have been to your mailbox recently, you may have noticed a letter from the library. In our annual fundraising campaign, the library is reaching out to our community to ask for financial help and any size donation helps. Your contribution supports the library’s mission of providing an array of programs, services, and resources to our community. We are so grateful for the generosity of our patrons and truly could not operate the library without your help.
The library is updating our appointment policy. Appointments will only be required for computer use and for notary services. Copy/fax/printing and book browsing times are available all day. We will continue to limit the number of people in the library and require masks on anyone over the age of 10 to ensure we keep our staff and patrons as safe as possible. Curbside service is also still available for anyone who would prefer not to come in. Call ahead and the library staff is happy to help check out books, magazines, DVDs or puzzles and bring them outside for you. The library is open Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Happy tales, y’all.
