BEC Donates $3,000 to Arms of Hope
Bandera Electric Cooperative donated $3,000 to Arms of Hope in Medina just in time for Christmas. The non-profit Christian care organization, formerly known as The Medina Children’s Home, assists children and single-mother families in need.
Arms of Hope does not receive federal or state grants and relies solely on support from individuals, civic groups, churches and businesses for funding and volunteers. It uses donated funds to care for more than 100 women and children who live on campus and support educational programs so women can better care for their families.
“This is the first Christmas for some of our kids,” Kim Boatman, Arms of Hope residential case manager, said. “It’s such a blessing to have friends and donors that support our kids and provide them with a magical Christmas experience.”
