Bulldogs varsity fall to Warhorses, 44-33
Freshman lose in thriller, late

After having to cancel last Friday's games against Lampasas and today's game against Johnson City, due to COVID-19, Bulldog basketball will have played just one game in a two-week period until they hit the road to take on Fox Tech Dec. 28.
Bandera tentatively will host Hondo on Dec. 31 for the last game of non-district, and then have almost a two-week layoff until district play starts against Comal Davenport on Jan. 12.
As always this season, schedules are subject to last minute changes and/or cancellations.

Varsity
The Bulldog varsity has been hovering around the .500 mark and after a 44-33 loss to the Warhorses at the Bandera Middle School gym last Tuesday, dropped to .444 at 5-6, before the Christmas break.
Another slow start put Bandera in the hole early with Devine doubling up on Bandera, 14-7, in the opening quarter and Devine took an eight point lead at the break.
Bandera battled back, getting to within a basket of the visitors in the fourth, but Devine pulled away in the last half of the fourth to notch the victory.
"We played a really strong defensive game against Devine and did a good job of fighting back to put ourselves in a position to pull ahead in the fourth quarter. We just have to do a better job of taking high-percentage shots to increase our output on the offensive end. Our kids have continued to improve defensively and they are playing hard, that’s the most important thing at this point in the season,” coach Brady Keane said.

Box score
                          1   2   3   4   Final
Devine          14 10 10 10    44
Bandera        7    9   11  6     33

Bandera stats
Scoring: Tyler Moore, 11, Lukas Jackson, 8, Trace Decker, 6, Luke Barnett, 6, Gunnar Winkler, 2
Rebounds: Jackson, 9, Decker, 6, Moore, 5
Assists: Barnett, 4
Steals: Barnett, 3

Freshmen
Bandera's freshmen Bulldogs are following the lead of the varsity and are also hovering around the .500 mark at 5-5, with a last second loss to Devine on a late, late 3 pointer for the Warhorses.
Bandera charged out to a lead early but Devine's steady diet of defense and 3-point shooting
whittled away at the Bulldogs lead tp get them in a position to snag the 53-51 win.
Corben Gonzales and Alex Dirck led the Bulldogs with 11 points each,  Issac Segura added 10,
Jorge Cabasos and Cale Barnett contributed 6 each, Adan Ramos and Hank Pate scored 3 points each and Jake Lannon had 1 in the loss.
