ALAMO RC&D, through the Senior Assistance Program, will continue with the Curbside Pantry every month at Faith Tabernacle, 7789 FM 1283. The next Curbside Pantry will be held on Thursday, March 18, beginning at 2 p.m.
In order to participate with Alamo RC&D, each senior household needs to apply at alamorcd.org. If you have trouble, text 210-548-9248 and you will be walked through it.
Registered senior citizens are invited to participate in the free Alamo RC&D Senior Zoom Social Club. Seniors must download the free Zoom app and they will be sent a link. Zoom meetings are planned for each month and will include fun, friendship and great information. Future social events will provide guest speakers, social discussions, online games, birthday celebrations and prizes. The next Zoom Social Club meeting will be announced.
In addition, Alamo RC&D has added a free Zoom Fun-n-Fitness Class for senior citizens. It combines chair exercises, resistance and use of motion to music. Participants must be registered and will be sent a link. Classes are every Monday at 1 p.m.

LAKEHILLS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 150 Ave. J in Lakehills, is hosting the 21st annual Fish Fry on Saturday, March 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or sold out. Plates are $12 each and will  consist of fried catfish, coleslaw, beans, french fries and dessert. The meal is drive-through only, first come, first served.
The funds raised will go to repair and maintain the facilities for preparing meals for our community. For more information, go to their website at lakehillsumc.org or call 830-751-2404.

TRIPLE H EQUITHERAPY is hosting “Horses and Horsepower Open Car Show” on Saturday, March 20, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Located at 791 Backhaus Rd. in Pipe Creek, it is billed as a free, fun, family day. The event features trophies for winning cars, meeting the horses, vendors, live music entertainment, an auction and a raffle. Closed-toe shoes are required. LAKEHILLS CIVIC CENTER will host the Last Saturday Market, held the last Saturday of each month in the center, 11225 PR 37 in Lakehills. The first Market will be held March 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vendors are needed and can find the fees and applications online at lakehillssaturdaymarket.com. If someone wants to be a vendor, and feels they cannot afford the booth fee, owner Jeremy Salois will work with you to make it affordable. Call 254-979-1073 for more information.

PIPE CREEK PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 8589 Hwy. 16 S, hosts the Little Rock Cafe every Wednesday evening, following the school schedule, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.  Each week the meal varies and always includes drink and dessert. Donations are $7 for adults and $3 for children. Call 830-510-6650 for more information.

LAKEHILLS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH offers Bread of Life, their free community meal, every Monday, following the school schedule, beginning at 5 p.m. Located at 150 Ave. J in Lakehills, the menu varies, serving 180 to 200 meals every week. Donations are gratefully accepted. Call 830-751-2404 for more information.

AMERICAN LEGION POST 410, 147 Legion Dr. in Lakehills, is open to the public, from 3 p.m., Fridays through Wednesdays. They serve meals every Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m. Each week offers a different dish, with sides and beverage for $8 a plate. Desserts are available for a small amount and diners may eat in or take out. For more information, call the post’s new number: 830-612-1034.

LAKE AND RIVER
On March 18, Medina Lake is at 38.3 per cent capacity. The lake level is 1029.65 feet, which is down 34.55 feet.
The Medina River has a flow of 10.3 cfs in Bandera, standing 3.36 feet deep at the gage.
