Lakehills Saturday Market off to a good start

By Vicki L. George

The first ever Lakehills Last Saturday Market got off to a good start last weekend, March 27. Even though competing with the bikers in town and the opening day of Bandera Little League, more than two dozen vendors came to sell their wares. While most were local, some came from Boerne, Pipe Creek, and as far away as Long Mott and Port Lavaca.
Although the visiting crowd was not huge, it was steady. Those attendees were not only looking, but buying and contributing to our local economy.
Market Managers Jeremy and Lacey Salois felt it was a good beginning and look forward to future Last Saturday Markets.
“We would like to give a huge thank you to all the folks that came out,” they said in a Facebook post.
They expressed appreciation to the vendors that kept them fed: Santa Cruz BBQ, Opal & Onyx Cookies, A & L Sweets, and Rusty Hook Winery. They thanked Rebel Roxy for their amazing music.
The next Market will take place Saturday, April 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. It will be held in the Lakehills Civic Center, located at 11225 PR 37. There will be food, live entertainment and more vendors.
To encourage more local people to become vendors, the managers offer incentives to help defray the costs, on a case by case basis. Vendor applications can be found at the website, lakehillssaturdaymarket.com.
They continue to advertise widely and will remain Covid compliant. For more information, call Jeremy Salois at 254-979-1073.
