Louis Vincent Roney
April 2, 1965 ~ May 17, 2021

Louis Vincent Roney, passed away on May 17, 2021. Born on April 2, 1965, in San Antonio, to parents Lou and Betty Roney. Louis was a proud graduate of Southwest Texas State University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science.
Louis was an artist, master carpenter and loved nature. He spent countless hours studying his family’s lineage and making detailed books with his findings. In his free time, you could find him hunting fossils, designing and building furniture, writing poetry, listening to music, studying space, tending to his chickens, and playing with his dog Kiowa.
Louis loved his son and his family deeply. Throughout the years, he always had a desire and the hope for a better life. This was evident up to his last days, with the texts and poetry he wrote. Many, outside of his family, loved Louis unconditionally. The messages he received from people who loved and cared for him were too numerous to count. He left this world knowing all of us loved him no matter the circumstances.
Louis is preceded in death by his grandparents Louis and Margaret Roney, Stanley and Mary Cooper; his Aunt Susan McCullough; and Uncle Howard Elitringham.
His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his family: son Louie Roney; parents Lou and Betty Roney; sister and brother-in-law Amy and Perry Deckard; nephew and niece Lee and Darla Deckard; Tristan Kurz, who he loved like his own; Terri Macharro, devoted mom to Louie; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and his beloved Kiowa and Little Kitty.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, June 1, at St. Peter’s Church in Boerne. Burial will follow at the Sisterdale Cemetery, in Sisterdale.
Memorials may be given to the National Parks Conservation Society, The Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation, and The Planetary Society.
The family invites you to send condolences at www.grimesfuneralchapels.com by selecting the “Send Condolences” link.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera.
