The Lakehills American Legion has returned to providing financial support for local area non-profit organizations who work to help foster the American Legion Constitution of mutual helpfulness to our community.
In their July General meeting, the members of the Post voted to award financial donations to the Bandera Youth Soccer League in the amount of $500 and to Silver Sage in the amount of $400.
“After a rough pandemic year of 2020, when our fundraising efforts were halted, we are glad to return to such a state that we can help our local organizations that uplift and support our community. As we move forward, we fully anticipate providing more assistance to like organizations in our community. Our leadership team and members have worked very hard over the last year to sustain the Post and return it to a state where we can now provide help to the community that supported us,” Post-Commander Will Evans said.
“It is great to see that we are now in a position to foster a giving relationship with our local organizations that support our community. We are glad to help any organization that coincides with our nationwide commitment to ‘mutual helpfulness, locally. Our Post, as well as the American Legion Auxiliary and the Sons of the American Legion, made these donations possible,” Post Finance Officer Ron Clarke said.
