Western Artist Round-Up Exhibit Opening and Reception

Enjoy a night celebrating Bandera’s cowboy spirit when the Frontier Times Museum hosts the opening exhibit reception for the Western Artists Round-Up exhibit and art sale on Thursday, Sept. 2. A consortium of seven western artists from all over Texas, the Western Artists Round-Up have declared the Frontier Times Museum their official host museum. The group displays in museums, art galleries and shows throughout Texas, winning many awards for their art. Member Jack Moss was recently inducted into the museum’s Texas Heroes Hall of Honor in July.
Their paintings, drawings, and sculptures represent and preserve the customs of the cowboys, Native Americans and frontier settlers who settled the west. In their artwork, the artists have stayed true to authentic historic details resulting in paintings that tell the stories of the hardy souls who shaped the American West as we know it.
The exhibit is on display in the museum’s Doane Western Art Gallery throughout the year. The artwork is also available for purchase. Each artist will commit a portion of the proceeds back to the museum to benefit the museum’s building expansion fund.
Come meet the artists at the exhibit opening and reception from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Beer and wine with refreshments will be served. The artists will be back at the museum on Friday, Sept. 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. doing art demonstrations and showing the techniques they use to create their beautiful paintings.
To keep safe, the museum is strongly recommending masks and face coverings. It is free admission for the Thursday night festivities with regular museum admission for Friday’s demonstrations. The Frontier Times Museum is located at 510 13th Street, just behind the Bandera County Courthouse.
