By Vicki L. George
The Bandera Prophet

The Lakehills Area Library is pleased to announce that well known local author Joanne Kukanza Easley will hold an author talk and book signing for her novels, Sweet Jane and Just One Look, on Saturday, Dec. 11, at noon, in the library at 7200 FM 1283.
Easley will give a brief reading from Just One Look and will tell the audience how and why she came to write these stories. She will answer questions about both books and will sign all that are purchased that day. She will be pleased to give a discount for the purchase of Sweet Jane and will offer a good deal for the purchase of both books together.
Her first novel, Sweet Jane, came out in March 2020 and has been named the winner in adult fiction at the Texas Author Project and it was short listed for the Sarton Award and the Eric Hoffer Award, among others. It has also received rave reviews where it is sold.
Just One Look is her second novel and was recently released.
Both novels are available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Black Rose Publishing. They can be purchased in paperback, Kindle, and audiobook.
Easley writes fictional stories, set in the sixties and seventies, about complicated women who eventually figure it out.
Her novel-in-progress, I’ll Be Seeing You, features characters from Sweet Jane.
Easley’s prize-winning short fiction and poetry have appeared in anthologies, the most recent being Work in Progress — Anthology, edited by Mandy Haynes. It will be released Dec. 14.
Easley hails from Chicago originally and is a retired Registered Nurse. She currently lives near Medina, with her husband and three dogs. She spends most of her days realizing her dream of writing fiction.
