Look to the lights

The Bandera Prophet
The lights have been strung, the stars have been hung and the night sky will soon twinkle with the kind of Christmas spirit only Bandera can create.
Volunteers went to work Saturday morning to decorate the courthouse lawn and City Park with lights, which will be turned on the day after Thanksgiving. A team effort, the Bandera Business Association, Bandera County Chamber of Commerce, Commissioner Jack Moseley, State Trooper Chip Aragones and the newly-formed Community Action Group joined forces to organize and execute the holiday endeavor that kicks off a month of Christmas cheer.
During the Evening Shopper Stroll on Friday, Dec. 3, see strolling musicians on Main Street and visit Santa at the Bandera General Store. Festivities will take place from 5-8 p.m.
On Saturday, Dec. 4, the annual Christmas parade will begin at 11 a.m., on Main Street. The Market Day and Music events will be at the Courthouse lawn from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On Saturday, Dec. 18, Singing in the Saddle will begin in the City Park at noon.
Every Saturday in December, except Christmas Day, Cowboys on Main will be around the courthouse mid-day. The gunfighters will perform at the Visitor’s Center. See the Visitor’s Center calender for their weekly schedule.
Dates and times are subject to change due to the weather. Applications are required for the Christmas Parade and Singing in the Saddle entries. For more information and applications, see the BBA’s Cowboy Christmas 2021 at www.banderabusiness.com, the Bandera Chamber of Commerce at www.banderatex.com or see the Visitor’s Center calendar at www.banderacowboycapital.com.
