Keep in Beat with the Bandera Library

By Mauri Guillén Fagan
Bandera Library Director

It is December – we made it! With another year closing, the Bandera Library would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to every person who donated their time, money and effort to making the library a warm center for the community. Without your contributions, we would not be able to provide the many services we do for Bandera. Thank you!
Today is our third installment of the Medicare 101 class. This class if for those who are aging into Medicare or are already enrolled. Get help in learning what does Medicare cover, what it does not and how to maximize your benefits. Class size is small so call the library if you are interested in attending the A.M. or P.M. session, at 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., respectively.
Thursday, Dec. 2, at 10:30 a.m. is our Weekly Storytime with Miss Pattie. Preschoolers are welcome to read aloud, dance, arts and crafts and have a small snack. Also at noon is the Monthly Book Club’s annual holiday luncheon. If you are interested in attending call the library to make your reservation. Please bring a wrapped book for the gift exchange.
Saturday, Dec. 4, is the Friends of the Library Book Fair. Come by early to get the best selection. Doors open at 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. This is the perfect opportunity to knock out your Christmas shopping list. All books, movies and music are new or gently used and available by donation. Your donation helps to fund the library, so swing by!
Our intrepid Dungeons and Dragons group also meets on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Downstairs Meeting Room. Go on an adventure as a character with powers or skills. All ages and experience levels are welcome.
The Bandera Library is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Masks are recommended while in the library building. Check out our website www.banderacountylibrary.org for all up-to-date information.
Happy tales, y’all.
