BEC donates Christmas turkeys to local families

Contributed

On Dec. 14, Bandera Electric Cooperative donated more than 25 turkeys, and more than $1,000 to St. Vincent de Paul Society in Bandera for their Angel Tree Project to assist local families in need during the holiday season. Along with the main dish and presents, families received complimentary sides from the SVDP food pantry for a complete holiday feast.
“BEC’s support of our Angel Tree Project has allowed us to do more than originally anticipated,” St. Vincent de Paul Society President Bob Bashaw said. “BEC’s generosity in donating turkeys allowed us to provide 27 Christmas dinners to the families of the children on our Angel Tree.”
BEC continually strives to uphold its cooperative principle Concern for Community by helping neighbors in need. For a list of local assistance resources in the area, please visit BanderaElectric.com/Assistance.
