Cruisin’ the East End
Serving Pipe Creek, Lakehills and Mico

By Vicki L. George
The Bandera Prophet

“Should auld acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind? Should auld acquaintance be forgot, and days of auld lang syne? For auld lang syne, my dear, for auld lang syne, we”ll take a cup of kindness yet, for auld lang syne.”
The song, “Auld Lang Syne,” was written as a poem by Robert Burns in 1788 and set to the tune of a traditional Scottish folk song. Burns borrowed some of the wording from previous poems but composed his poem and set it to music himself. The words, auld lang syne, mean “times long past.”
