BHS Girls Basketball
The varsity Lady Bulldogs lost both district games last week, a 51-32 loss to Wimberley on Tuesday and a 74-37 decision to Comal Davenport on Friday, falling to 0-3 in district play.
No stats were made available for either game.
JV action saw Bandera take a 33-23 win over Davenport.
Girls Soccer
Bandera’s Lady Bulldogs went 1-0-1 in matches last week.
Somerset jumped on Bandera early, taking a 5-1 lead in the first half on their way to a 6-2 victory Tuesday. Rihanna Garza and Iliana Silva scored for Bandera and Bietzel Gonzales made 15 saves in the loss.
Coach Keith Kuenzel cited the play of Lauren Benedict, Ashlyn Brown and Yadi Mendoza.
Friday saw a defensive battle as Bandera played the Cole Lady Cougars to a scoreless tie, 0-0.
Gonzalez had another 15 save performance to get the shutout with help from the defensive play of Benedict, Brown, Mendoza and Kimberly Valdez.
Next up, YWLA at home on Tuesday, Jan. 18.
Boys Soccer
The Bulldogs won a 5-0 contest over Poteet last Tueday and fell to KIPP. 5-3, on Friday.

The Lady Bulldogs faced Comfort on the road last Thursday.
Seventh grade
The Lady Bulldogs “B” squad played their fourth game of the season and with plenty of scoring opportunities by Autumn Praeter, Mckenzie Mercier, and Yarel Hernandez, got an 11-9 victory over the Deer. Abby Sizemore’s stellar play on defense was also key in the win.
The “A” team suffered a 35-13 loss to the Deer. The Lady Bulldogs fought hard, but were surprised by the full court press from the Deer. Good defensive play from Cerissa Fernandez and Preslee Greenley was the highlight for Bandera.
Eighth grade
The Lady Bulldogs “B” team won a close 16-15 decision over Comfort with aggressive play on defense and handling the ball well on offense. Addysen Bailey and Rebeca Avalos both scored six points each to help Bandera keep the lead.
The Lady Bulldogs “A” team lost to Comfort, 30-23. Despite missing some key players and struggling at the free throw line, the Lady Dogs played tough defense and outscored Comfort in two of the four quarters led by Taytum Moeller with 13 points.
All BMS Lady Bulldog teams will play their last home game of the season this Thursday starting at 5 p.m.
