BEC Foundation fundraiser aims to support nonprofits

BEC is offering members a way to help the community and the chance to win a prize by participating in the BEC Foundation’s Care Fundraiser.
Now through March 31, BEC members who voluntarily round up their monthly utility bill to the nearest whole dollar or who make a donation of $5 or more to the BEC Foundation will be entered to win a BEC Foundation gift set. The gift set includes one BEC Foundation T-shirt in red or black, a 20-ounce BEC Foundation engraved tumbler and a $50 gift card. Six gift sets will be awarded.
You can round up your bill by signing in to your myBEC account online or in the mobile app and select which account you want to enroll. You can also complete an online form at BanderaElectric.com/WaysToGive or call 866-226-3372 and select option 3. You can make a one-time donation in-person at any BEC office or online at the website above.
All proceeds go directly to the BEC Foundation to provide grants to local nonprofit organizations to support community projects, health initiatives, education and youth programs, and social service projects.
Currently, BEC has more than 28,000 members with less than 7 percent rounding up their monthly bill. The average bill round up is 50 cents per month, or $6 per year. If every member participated, more than $160,000 could be raised annually for our community.
To learn more about the BEC Foundation or to make a donation, please visit BanderaElectric.com/WaysToGive or call 866-226-3372 and select option 3.
