Girls Soccer
The Lady Bulldogs Goalkeeper Bietzel Gonzalez stopped 37 out of 45 shots on goal and Hannah Edwards scored the only goal for Bandera in an 8-1 loss to Boerne Friday.
Starting the second round, Bandera hosted Davenport and fell by a 1-0 score as Gonzalez stopped 23 of 24 shots and the team in front of her played well.
Coach Keith Kuenzel was happy with the Davenport match if not the result.
“We played tenaciously throughout the game. Defensively, we swarmed all night keeping the pressure on and flipping the field in a constant back and forth match. There cannot be enough said about the effort, intensity and improvement of these young ladies displayed to begin the second half of district play,” Kuenzel said..
Bandera will travel to Canyon Lake on Tuesday, March 1.
Boys Soccer
The Bulldogs fell to Davenport by a 6-1 score Tuesday evening.

Golf
The Bandera golf teams competed on the Llano River Golf Course last week.
Katie Dibrell led the Lady Bulldogs with a score of 105, followed by Maryssa Fernandez shooting a 111, and Tessa Phillips shooting a 125. As the girls didn’t have enough players, all participated as individuals.
On the boys side, Jesse Cardenas and Tristan Stoops both shot an 83 followed by Trevor D’Spain with an 84 and Joushua Staples and Skyler Trevino rounded out the field with a 100 and a 131 respectively.
Bradin Carrales led the individual players for Bandera with an 85, Joey Flewellen shot 113 and Alex Dirck came in with a 119.
Baseball
Bandera Baseball garnered their first win in almost two years with a 10-0 five inning shutout over the Poteet Aggies at home Tuesday.
Pat Cizek had a large day at the plate going 3-3 with a double and a RBI, Dylan Gherman went 2-3 with a triple and 3 RBI’s and Jackson Vogel went 2-3 with a double, 2 RBI’s and a stolen base.
“Offensively, the guys put together a bunch of hits and with aggressive base running to put runs on the board each inning.
Barrett Wade got the win on the mound, giving up three hits and recording 10Ks in five innings. and great defensive plays by Caleb Hohon, Jesse Cardenas and Pat Cizek helped seal the deal to help aid Wade’s shutout bid,” coach Cody Fields said.
Bandera will take on Harlandale in their first SAISD tournament game Thursday afternoon.
Softball
The Lady Bulldogs scored at will on their way to a 17-7 win over the Devine Arabians Tuesday evening. The team had 10 hits, led by Aubrey Mangold, who went 3-4 with a single and two doubles, at the plate.
The varsity will head to Llano for a tournament this Thursday – Saturday.
