The LAKEHILLS FARMERS MARKET got off to a good start on March 5. Located at 101 Center St., just off FM 1283, by the True Value and across from the Hill Country Grocery, their first event drew several vendors and a lot of visitors. Owners Michelle and David Speicher said their goal is to grow to 20 venders and two food trucks.
Creative knitted products filled one table. The Speichers offered a few of their products, committing 10 per cent of the profits to Arthur Nagel Community Clinic.
Sharon Corwin displayed her handmade, natural stone and bead jewelry. Her business is My Heart Beads for Him. She can be reached at [email protected] or 314-680-3140.
The biggest vendor was Kyle Speicher, nephew to the owners, who presented his own business, BBQ Daddies. He sold his own specially formulated barbecue rub. After a taste test by a visitor, it was declared to be excellent. He can be followed on Facebook or by emailing [email protected].
The plan is to hold the market every other Saturday. They welcome more vendors. Check out the Farmers Market online at lakehillsfarmersmarket.com. Contact them by calling 830-205-3091 or emailing [email protected].
