Keep in Beat with the Bandera Library

Spring has sprung in the Texas Hill Country. If you have been to the library recently, you’ll see our Texas Redbud has begun to bloom which is the real indicator on when the sunnier weather is on its way no matter what the calendar says. (If you do swing by, keep an eye out for our adopted library rooster who we have named George Orwell. He’s a little ornery).
Every Wednesday, our Country and Western music group meets at 9:30 a.m. for an acoustic jam session in the Downstairs Meeting Room. All skill levels are welcome. Wednesdays are also when our weekly Sit-and-stitch meets at 4 p.m. in the main part of the library. Come by to work on your stitching project, get or give some advice on any knitting or crochet conundrums.
Thursday, March 17, is St. Patrick’s Day! Dress your little ones up in Irish green and bring them to Storytime at 10:30 a.m. We will read books and make St. Patrick’s Day themed crafts.
New titles this week include Harlan Coben’s latest thriller called “The Match.” Wilde has returned to his proper home in the Ramapo Mountains. He tried a domestic life, but it failed miserably. He knows he needs space and freedom. However, an online DNA database search brings the mystery of Wilde’s parentage that much closer. In the sudden discovery of the existence of a second cousin, he now has an avenue to search for his biological father. But just as quickly as he appears, he is gone having experienced an astonishing fall from grace. Now Wilde is considering that perhaps his blood relative may have been the victim of a larger conspiracy.
The Bandera Library is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7.
