All fireworks banned in city limits

Bandera continues to remain trapped under a heat dome, causing record highs and exceptional drought. Because of the extremely dry conditions, any fireworks discharge is discouraged, however only missiles with fins and skyrockets with sticks are banned in the county; in the Bandera city limits, no fireworks are allowed per city ordinance.
As they do each year, Bandera County commissioners issued the ban on the specific fireworks, which typically are not on the shelves. Other fireworks are allowed, however authorities urge caution.
Between windy conditions and dry, flammable vegetation, a small spark can cause a brush fire that can quickly become out of control. According to the Keetch Byram Drought Index, Bandera County is ranked with a value of 700-800, the driest recorded. The index is based on temperature and precipitation, calculated by the Texas A&M Forest Service.
