Everyone says ‘Arrgghhh!’ as Lakehills Library Summer Reading Season concludes
By Dianna Landes
Lakehills Library Director
The end of this year’s Summer Reading Season at the Lakehills Area Library arrived with a final party on Aug. 3 to celebrate.
Robert Cosplay was the library’s special guest with pirates Jasmine and Robert. They performed a sword fight and taught the kids a little about the pirate's life, followed by food, a hook ring toss, coconut bowling, map making, eye patch decorating, a mustache and tattoo parlor, and some sword fighting basics.
We had a wonderful year, serving 918 children and 399 adults with our nine programs from June to August. We had a magician, a visit from San Antonio Zoo, Happy Tails Entertainment, a Balloon Story Teller, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and crafting days.
We look forward to next year, bringing quality summer entertainment and encouragement to read all summer long.
