The Bandera Prophet
“We look to the sunrise. It gives us life, and gives the grass and the animals and everybody life. Without that light, we wouldn’t be here…We pray for a miracle. It’s not a wish. We need a miracle now.”
Lenny Medina led the Blessing for Rain ceremony on the Bandera County courthouse lawn Saturday, asking for the rains to come. Also leading in prayer was Msgr. Frank Kurzaj of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
Organized by Karen Osman of the Bandera Cowgirls, the event was well-attended by members of the community, who participated in the traditional Native American ceremony.
