Keep in Beat with the Bandera Library

By Mauri Guillén Fagan
Bandera Library Director

Here is my last reminder and invitation to the library’s Evening with An Author on Thursday, Dec. 8, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Come meet Texas author Elizabeth Crook and enjoy light refreshments.
We continue to collect warm clothes for the 2nd annual Coat Drive hosted by the Democratic Women of Bandera County and the Bandera County Republican Women. New and gently used coats for men, women and children collected will be distributed to local families in need. We have already received a wonderful outpouring of generosity from the community, and we thank you. And a special thank you to the anonymous person who handknit and donated over 30 beanies.
In addition to collecting coats, the library’s holiday food pantry is still available. If you need a little extra help this holiday season, please feel free to stop by and get what you need.
The library is hosting a special guest during Storytime on Thursday, Dec. 15, from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Santa Claus is coming to town! Bring the kiddos by to take a picture with the big guy himself. We also have a special mailbox that will send letters to Santa express mail.
Beginning on Thursday during Storytime, the library will also host Edmundo Cardoza from Aetna who is here to answer questions about Medicaid, CHIP, Texas Health Steps and more. Be sure and stop by to get enrolled or get any questions you have about your child’s coverage answered.
Our Dungeons and Dragons group will not meet on the following Saturdays for the holidays: Dec. 17, Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. They will resume the weekly campaign on Saturday, Jan. 7, in the Downstairs Meeting Room.
The Bandera Kronkosky Public Library is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is still available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Stay up to date with library events by following us on Facebook (@Bandera County Library), Instagram (@banderalibrary), or sign up for our monthly newsletter through our website at www.banderalibrary.org.
Happy tales, y’all.
