The city’s annual Kids Fish for Fun was well-attended, with 100 fishing poles, and 100 beanies and gloves given away, and 30 pizzas eaten.
Shortly after several hundred Winter Rainbow Trout were dropped in the Medina River, hopeful fishermen flocked to the banks at Bandera City Park on Tuesday.
Sponsors included Bandera Electric Cooperative ($1,000 donation), Zebco (a 50 percent discount on 80 Dock Demon fishing poles), Adurra Engineering (20 pizzas), The Dough Joe (10 pizzas), the Bandera Fire Department (bottled water), Lowes (chips), Republic Services (sunglasses and $300 that funded 100 beanies and gloves).
