“A”
The A team kicked off the second round of district play after a two week hiatus for Christmas break. These ladies faced adversity as we were down a number of players, faced foul trouble early in the game, and each player adjusting to new positioning on the court, fighting all the way in a 25-24 loss in the last 45 seconds of the game.
They learned that when things may not go perfectly in a game and our shots don’t always fall in the basket, they must continue to trust in the process, in their teammates and themselves. Each girl played aggressive and with significant improvement in their skills all the meanwhile maintaining true Bulldog values.
This weeks’ hustle award goes to Sydney Moore with 12 points and four steals.
Cerissa Fernandez, Samantha “Peanut” Sardo, and Moore had four rebounds each with Abby Sizemore, Preslee Greenley, Rebekah Gomez and Jessie Battle recorded two rebounds each. Battle had an incredible defensive game with five blocks. Autumn Prater, Trinity Schniebs and Sardo had two steals each in the win.
“B”
The B team won their game against Pearsall by an 18-15 score with a three point shot in the final minute of the game. Lakota Jackson provided the offensive spark with three, three pointers and Maddie Garza, Jordan Tucker and Jackson led the defensive effort by keeping pressure on the Lady Mavs.

“A”
The A team showed true grit the whole game, but came up short in a 23-14 contest. Defensively, we stopped their top scorer and held her to just two points in the second half.
Zoey Taylor and Piper Barnard led Bandera scoring with five and four points respectively.
Now we will fine tune some of our plays to help defeat Devine at home next week.
“B”
The B team played well against Pearsall Thursday night, winning the game, 14-5. A big improvement overall on defense from the whole team which led to the win.
Emma Rynarzewiski and Madison Frazee led the team in points with four each. Mia Ranly, Leighann Spangler and Blake Waid had two points each. We had good energy from the entire team and we look forward to building on this “W”.
The BMS girls will host the Devine Fillies on Jan. 12.

The second quarter saw Bandera add 11 points by moving the ball around the paint and playing lock down defense to close out the half with a 15-7 score.
Pearsall would mount a comeback in the third bringing the game within one point, but the Bulldogs did not quit. The boys would add eight points to extend their lead and ultimately give them the victory with a final score of 26-19.

The Dogs lost a hard fought 29-23 decision to Pearsall. Mack Pate hit a couple of three pointers to put the Dogs back within reach in the fourth, but it wasn’t enough. Micah Toomire scored seven, Chris Martinez scored five and Malachy King added three.
As a whole, this group has continued to play hard in every game and always battles to the end. The
improvement shown by these young men is incredible and they hope to turn things around next Thursday.
“B”
The B team has always been a tough, physical group, improving each week as a team. This week they lost to Pearsall by a 16-6 score, led by Donald Lee with four points and Kolbi Vance with two.
The boys teams will hit the road to Devine Thursday to play the Warhorses.
