The Bandera High School Speech and Debate team had a fantastic weekend at the National Speech and Debate Association Gulf Coast District tournament. This is the team’s first year to compete on this circuit.
The senior team of Katelyn Mendez and Elijah Sarazua are the NSDA Policy Debate District champions with an undefeated record. This is BHS Debate’s first national qualification!
More awards went to:
Freshman Cassandra Steffler broke to finals in House Congressional Debate, placing 8th.
Sophomore Micah McCreary broke to finals in Domestic Extemporaneous speaking and is the 1st national alternate.
Congratulations to these bulldogs as they move on to compete in Phoenix in June.
