By Jessica Nohealapa’ahi
The Bandera Prophet

In honor of the National Day of the American Cowboy, Bandera will host family-friendly events and live entertainment at the Bandera County courthouse this weekend, beginning with a free cowboy breakfast with Kelly Scott.
On Saturday, July 22, at 9 a.m., Scott will serve up an authentic cowboy breakfast at the courthouse lawn, kicking off a day full of western fun. Other activities include wagon rides, stick horse races, cowboy dress-up, pony rides, arts and crafts, vendors and more. Scheduled live performances include the Bandera Cattle Company Gunfighters, stories and music throughout the day with Lee Haile, Don Wright and Glenn Murray, trick-roper Will Fitzpatrick, Dr. Bob’s Medicine Show, and much more.
Later Saturday evening, head over to Mansfield Park for the Ridin’ the River Cowboy Fellowship “National Day of the American Cowboy Rodeo Events,” which include mutton busting, ranch bronc riding and three-man mugging. Gates open at 6:30 p.m.
Sponsored by the Bandera Business Association, all activities are free.
