Frances Laue announces for BEC District 2 Director
For the past seven years, I have served as the representative for the Bandera area on the Bandera Electric Cooperative board of directors. I was appointed to fill a vacancy in 2016 and was re-elected by the BEC membership in 2017 and 2020. I am running for re-election again this year, and I am asking for your vote to continue the work and current initiatives underway at BEC, including further rollout of the fiber network that provides high-speed broadband Internet, expansion of energy efficiency initiatives, and strengthening of the electric grid.
In 2016, I applied to be on the board because of my interest in conservation of energy, water, and other natural resources, and my past experience on other non-profit boards. My work, education, and volunteer history with other cooperatives and member-oriented organizations fits well with the requirements of the position. During these seven years, BEC made great strides to improve the lives of our members and enhance businesses through the rollout of the high-speed broadband internet, improve energy efficiency in homes and businesses, and provide more options for members to manage their energy usage and payment options. For more information, visit the BEC website and click on “About” to learn more about me and the other members of the board.
Your vote and endorsement would be greatly appreciated. Voting starts this week and ends on Aug. 11. I hope you will attend BEC’s annual meeting on Aug. 12 to learn more about your cooperative.
Thank you for your consideration and your support. It is a privilege to represent the Bandera area and serve the entire BEC membership.
