Countywide burn ban approved

Effective July 27, the countywide burn ban is in effect. Bandera County commissioners unanimously approved the ban during today’s regular session.
County Judge Richard Evans said the county’s current Keetch Byram Drought Index value is 578, and “it’s going to get a lot higher.”
If we get rain, Evans said, the ban may be lifted.
