Medina's streak continues

By Lindsey Kunz
MISD Superintendent/Athletic Director

Medina volleyball and football continue their winning ways defeating Brackett and Bulverde Bracken, with cross country bringing home numerous medals to complete the week.
Tuesday night the Lady Cats took the long trip to Brackettville to take on the Tigerettes from Brackett High School.  The junior varsity squad took the court first, and after a rough start in the first set bounced back to obtain the victory, winning the second and third sets.
The Varsity Lady Cats followed with a straight set victory by scores of 25-18, 25-12, 25-14.

Bobcat Football hosted the Warriors from Bulverde Bracken Friday night. The Bobcats scored early and never looked back earning the win 66-16 in front of the home crowd. The win moves the Bobcats to 3-1 on the season.

Medina Cross Country brought home many medals from this week’s Junction Invitational. Ahnika Grassie set a personal record with a time of 14:19 to place 10th in the girls varsity division. In the boys varsity division, Rylan Mills placed 9th, Brandon Harms 13th and Holland Cook 16th. The boys team along with Gaige Pitts, Sam Aguilar and Aiden Ortega brought home 3rd placed team honors.

Medina volleyball and football both host opponents for their “GOLD OUT” contests on Friday, Sept. 22. Volleyball is set to begin at 4 p.m. versus Knippa and football at 7:30 p.m. versus Santa Anna.
