Gene Smith announces for Bandera County Sheriff
Gene Smith, a resident of Bandera, a retired Law Enforcement Officer, and Navy veteran, is announcing he is running as a Republican for Bandera County Sheriff.
The citizens of Bandera now have a voice and a choice in the direction and how the Sheriff's Department is operated, the law applied equally and fairly to everyone, electing a new sheriff is a good step in the right direction, but we didn't get here overnight, and we can't fix it overnight, but I won't be able to do it all by myself. I will need your help to give me the necessary tools and people to get the job done.
Letter of commendation from the Midland Police Department, July 6, 2004.
Letter of appreciation from the Midland Fire Department, Sept. 30, 2010.
Some of my qualifications are: Over 35 years experience in security and law enforcement, Advanced Peace Officers License, Death & Homicide investigation, Human Remains, Crime Scene Investigation, Advanced Human Trafficking, Criminal Investigation, Active shooter, Bombs and Explosive Devices, Patrol with Horse and Canine, Gangs investigation, Instructor certification, Firearms Instructor certification, VIP protection (U.S. Marshal's), Certified Proficient Civil Process,
Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (Tcole) total training hours: 2,383.
